Anniversary: Banana Durian War Part 1

Cheng Yi and Shi Yee were at their company talking to their staff members when suddenly the secretary came.

"Ma'am, there's an urgent phone call. He says he's the prince." She said, half giggling.

"Huh? Okay. Shi Yee, why don't you proceed first." Cheng Yi said and went to answer the call.

"Hello?"

"Hello, Cheng Yi! I need you to plan my wedding." A manly voice interrupted before she could ask who was it.

"Okay. But may I know who are you?" She said with a sweet voice.

"Sorry about that. I am Brian Bakes Queensland, you can call me BBQ. I am the prince of Bakry. My friend told me about your company." The person, BBQ introduced himself politely.

"Yes. Prince BBQ, how may I help you?" Cheng Yi asked.

"I need you to help me plan my wedding." He said excitedly.

"Alright. So may I know when's the wedding?" Cheng Yi took her schedule book and a pen from the desk.

"The chancellor said two two two for couple, so its the 22nd of February, on Tuesday." Cheng Yi checked the calendar, it was exactly 2 weeks away.

"Okay, just to inform, we'll be charging 30% more because of the limited time." She said through the phone.

"The queen has lots of money, don't worry."

"Do you have any theme in mind?" She asked while flipping through the collection albums. "We have white wedding, fairytale wedding, zombie wedding, star wars wedding, harry potter wedding..."

"Could you make like... something like a banana theme?" He tried explaining. "Like banana decorations instead of flowers?"

"I think we can manage that. Anything you wanna add?" Cheng Yi asked while drafting the wedding in her schedule book.

"No. Thank you." He said and ended the phone call.

"Well, that was fast. I haven't finish asking yet." Cheng Yi scratched her head.

"Cheng, my dear, who was it?" Shi Yee was beside her.

"A prince that wants us to plan a banana themed wedding. Call an emergency meeting, we need this done within 2 weeks." Cheng Yi told her husband and went to her office to get the necessary documents.

After 20 minutes, all the staff members are gathered at the meeting room. Cheng Yi made a briefing of the wedding and divided the staff into teams that manage the seating, food, wedding reception, decorations, guest list and miscellaneous.

As one week passed by, everyone did what was needed to be done. Some of the staff prepared the guest list and invitation cards. Some searched throughout every supermarket to every orchard in the area to collect enough bananas for the decorations. The bananas have to be half ripen so that they won't rot before the wedding. Some went to the finest restaurants to order the best cuisines for the perfect wedding.

"Ma'am, the prince called again." The secretary knocked on Cheng Yi's door. Cheng Yi nodded and answered the call.

"Hello prince BBQ. What can I do for you?"

"Cheng Yi? I think I didn't mentioned about my fiancee. She's a pure jungle girl and her name is Tarzana. Could you make a gown for her? I need it to be custom made from banana leaves and the tailors just don't know how to." He was panting.

"I think I can make it. If you could tell Tarzana to come to my office for measurements." She suggested her to come for more accurate measurements.

"She can't go. But the queen will send the measurements through e-mail. It's R0ya1eBakry@bakry.com Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep..." The phone call ended.

"What is the matter with him ending phone calls like that. Shi Yee! Shi Yee my gold bar~" Cheng Yi called out from her office.

"Dear, who was that?" Shi Yee came into her office with a cup of milk.

"It was the prince. There's one more week and we still have so much to do. Now I need banana leaves." She sighed.

"Chill. I'm going to collect the new batch of bananas. I'll collect some beautiful big shiny banana leaves. Love you." He said and left her to enjoy the warm cup of milk.

Cheng Yi spent two days to make the gown. She had use special thicker threads for sewing so that the banana leaves held together. Before the final touches, she asked Shi Yee to try it out for her since he and Tarzana had similar figures.

"No way I'm wearing that DRESS!"

"Protesting is not going to help me with the work. Come on, I need you to model it for me, please?" She looked at him with big shinning black pupils.

He took the gown and went to change.

"Are you done yet? Come out, I wanna see." Cheng Yi was getting impatient while Shi Yee was struggling with the dress and making sure to not tear the delicate leaves.

Shi Yee walked to Cheng Yi, nearly tripping.

"Like it? Can I change now?" She shook her head.

"Go outside and walk a bit. I want to see if it can stand ruffling. And I need to clear my mind by not seeing the gown for 20 minutes. Have fun!" She waved Shi Yee out.

Mumbling and grumbling, Shi Yee walked through the streets, looking at the ground. He didn't want anyone to recognize him. Good thing he had shoulder length hair to cover a part of his face.

Suddenly, a gust of wind hit Shi Yee, making him sneeze.
